Kimchi jjigae (Korean pronunciation: [kimtɕʰi tɕ͈iɡɛ]) is avariety of jjigae, or stew-like Korean dish, made with kimchi and otheringredients, such as scallions, onions, diced tofu, pork, and seafood, althoughpork and seafood are generally not used in the same recipe. It is one of themost common jjigae in Korea.

Kimchi jjigae is often cooked in Korean homes using older,more fermented and "ripe" kimchi, creating a much stronger taste andcontaining higher amounts of "good" bacteria also found in yogurt.The stew is said to be more flavorful if prepared with older kimchi, whilefresh kimchi may not bring out a full and rich flavor. Kimchi is the mostimportant ingredient in kimchi jjigae and other ingredients tend to depend onpersonal preferences.

Sliced kimchi is put into a pot with beef, pork or seafood,tofu, sliced spring onions and garlic, and are all boiled with water ormyeolchi(멸치) stock. The stew is seasoned with either doenjang(된장)(bean paste) or gochujang (고추장)(red pepper paste).

Like many other Korean dishes kimchi jjigae is usually eatencommunally from the center of the table if more than two people are served. Itis accompanied by various banchan (side dishes) and rice. It is usually cookedand served boiling hot in a stone pot.

Bibimbap (Korean pronunciation: [bibimbap]) is a signatureKorean dish. The word literally means "mixed meal" or "mixedrice". Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul(sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste). A raw orfried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredientsare stirred together thoroughly just before eating. It can be served eithercold or hot.

Bibimbap is first mentioned in the Siuijeonseo, an anonymouscookbook from the late 19th century. There its name is given as 부븸밥(bubuimbap). In Korean households, bibimbap is frequently prepared from steamedrice, vegetables, and meat.

Vegetables commonly used in bibimbap include juliennedcucumber, zucchini, mu (daikon), mushrooms, doraji (bellflower root), and gim,as well as spinach, soybean sprouts, and gosari (bracken fern stems). Dubu(tofu), either plain or sautéed, or a leaf of lettuce may be added, or chickenor seafood may be substituted for beef. For visual appeal, the vegetablesare often placed so that adjacent colors complement each other.

Bulgogi (Korean pronunciation: [bulɡoɡi]) or neobiani is aKorean dish that usually consists of marinated barbecued beef, chicken or pork.

Bulgogi is made from thin slices of sirloin or other primecuts of beef. Before cooking, the meat is marinated to enhance its flavour andtenderness with a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, pepper andother ingredients such as scallions, onions or mushrooms, especially whitebutton mushrooms or shiitake. Sometimes, cellophane noodles are added to thedish, which varies by region and specific recipe.

Bulgogi is traditionally grilled, but pan-cooking is commonas well. Whole cloves of garlic, sliced onions and chopped green peppers areoften grilled or fried with the meat. This dish is sometimes served with a sideof lettuce or other leafy vegetable, which is used to wrap a slice of cookedmeat, often along with a dab of ssamjang, or other side dishes, and then eatenas a whole.

Yehliu (Chinese: 野柳; pinyin: Yěliǔ)is a cape on the north coast of Taiwan in the town of Wanli between Taipei andKeelung.

The cape, known by geologists as the Yehliu Promontory,forms part of the Taliao Miocene Formation. It stretches approximately 1,700meters into the ocean and was formed as geological forces pushed Datun Mountain(大屯山) out of the sea.

A distinctive feature of the cape is the “hoodoo” stonesthat dot its surface. These shapes can be viewed at the Yeliu Geopark operatedby the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration.

Jiufen, also known as Jioufen or Chiufen (Chinese: 九份; pinyin: Jiǔfèn; Wade–Giles: Chiu3-fen4; Pe̍h-ōe-jī:Káu-hūn; literally "nine portions"), is a mountain area in theRuifang District of New Taipei City near Keelung, Taiwan.

During the first years of the Qing Dynasty, the village herehoused nine families, thus the village would request "nine portions"every time shipments arrived from town. Later Jiufen ("Nine portions"in Chinese) would become the name of the village.

As Jiufen is a mountain town, the roads that lead there aremostly steep, curving, narrow, and possibly dangerous.

Jiufen also became popular in 2001, when its downtown wasused as a model in the anime movie Spirited Away.

At present, Jiufen is a renowned tourist attractionrepresentative of Taiwan. It draws many tourists from Taipei during theweekends.

Nantien Temple Nanfang'ao, located in Yilan County is animportant fishing pier for marine industry in the eastern part of Taiwan. Witha population of nine thousand people approximate, eighty percent of theresidents live with marine business.

Due to local beliefs of Goddess of the sea: Mazu, NantienTemple was built to dedicate Mazu. Nantien Temple was first planned in 1950,and its main hall was established in 1952. The temple became the centre ofreligion for local residents when it first opened on the 18th of November,1956.

The most distinctive feature of Nantien Temple is the statueof Mazu. The statue of Mazu weighs two hundred kilograms and is made of ahundred percent gold. This uniqueness of the statue attracts believers andvisitors all over the world to pilgrimage or tour at Nantien Temple. There isalso a Mazu statue carved from jade stone. Mazu(literally mother’s ancestor) is a Taoist goddess of the sea who protectspeople who make a living from the ocean (fishermen, sailors etc).

For visitors looking for a big seafood feast, there arenumerous seafood restaurants along the pier. These fresh seafood cuisines arethe hard works of fishermen, the seafood are guaranteed fresh!

From Kota Kinabalu to Tenom! Stopover @ Papar town for breakfast!

Papar is a town as well as a district located in West CoastDivision of Sabah, east Malaysia. It is situated 38 kilometres south of KotaKinabalu. Papar is a major stopover point for travelers from the southern townsSipitang and Beaufort to Kota Kinabalu, as it would be at least twentykilometers to the next township at both ends of the Pan Borneo Highway (Putatanto the north, Bongawan to the south).

Crocker Range (Banjaran Crocker in Malay), is a mountainrange on the island of Borneo. Politically, it is within the boundary of theMalaysian state of Sabah, located in the northern half of Borneo.

The mountain range separates the east coast and west coast of Sabah. At an average height of 1800m, it is the highest mountain range in Sabah. Mount Kinabalu, which is one of the highest mountains in Southeast Asia is part of this range.

Part of the range, has been gazetted for protection as Crocker Range National Park since 1984. The area surrounding Mount Kinabalu has been a national park since 1964 and is the country's first World Heritage Site.

Tenom is a town located in Interior Division of Sabah, eastMalaysia on the island of Borneo. The town was called Fort Birch in the earlycolonial period. Its population was estimated to be around 46,200 in the year2000.

The principal ethnic groups are Murut (60%), followed byChinese (20%), Malay (10%), and Kadazan-Dusun (8%). Most of the Chinese inTenom are of Hakka descent. More specifically, most are descended from migrantswho came from the country of Longchuan in Guangdong, China. Tenom , which isone of the oldest Chinese settlements in Sabah, with its rich and fertile landattracting many of the early Chinese migrants, specifically the Hakkas who, bytradition, were mainly agriculturalists. Today, the area is still primarily anagricultural zone, with soy beans, maize, vegetables and cacao being the majorcrops. Tenom is one of Sabah's more scenic interior locations, with the CrockerRange towering impressively immediately behind town. It is also known as the "gatewayto Murut country".

Keningau is a sprawling timber and agricultural town anddistrict located in the Interior Division of Sabah, east Malaysia on the islandof Borneo. It is the oldest and largest district in the interior part of Sabah.The Keningau District is situated in a valley surrounded by the Crocker Rangeto the west and the Trus Madi Range to the east and south.

The name Keningau is derived from that of the Javanesecinnamon tree (Cinnamomun burmannii), or locally known as 'Koningau' which isabundant in the area. The tree is also known as 'Kayu Manis' in Malay and ithas also been referred to as the 'king of spice'. 90% of the population in Keningau are Dusunsand Muruts, 8% are Chinese and other indigenous locals. As with most othermajor population centres in the state of Sabah, most of the Chinese in Keningauare of Hakka descent.
