PLAY: Yeliu Geopark @ Taiwan 2007.12.20!

Yehliu (Chinese: 野柳; pinyin: Yěliǔ) is a cape on the north coast of Taiwan in the town of Wanli between Taipei and Keelung.

The cape, known by geologists as the Yehliu Promontory, forms part of the Taliao Miocene Formation. It stretches approximately 1,700 meters into the ocean and was formed as geological forces pushed Datun Mountain (大屯山) out of the sea.

A distinctive feature of the cape is the “hoodoo” stones that dot its surface. These shapes can be viewed at the Yeliu Geopark operated by the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration.

 Fairy Shoe (仙女鞋) formation!

A number of rock formations have been given imaginative names based on their shapes. The most well-known is the "The Queen's Head" (女王頭), an iconic image in Taiwan and an unofficial emblem for the town of Wanli.

PLAY: Jiufen @ Taiwan 2007.12.20!

Jiufen, also known as Jioufen or Chiufen (Chinese: 九份; pinyin: Jiǔfèn; Wade–Giles: Chiu3-fen4; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Káu-hūn; literally "nine portions"), is a mountain area in the Ruifang District of New Taipei City near Keelung, Taiwan.

During the first years of the Qing Dynasty, the village here housed nine families, thus the village would request "nine portions" every time shipments arrived from town. Later Jiufen ("Nine portions" in Chinese) would become the name of the village.

As Jiufen is a mountain town, the roads that lead there are mostly steep, curving, narrow, and possibly dangerous.

Jiufen also became popular in 2001, when its downtown was used as a model in the anime movie Spirited Away.

At present, Jiufen is a renowned tourist attraction representative of Taiwan. It draws many tourists from Taipei during the weekends.

PLAY: Taroko National Park @ Taiwan 2007.12.21!

Taroko National Park (Chinese: 太魯閣國家公園; pinyin: Tàilǔgé gúojiā gōngyuán; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Taroko kok-ka kong-hn̂g) is one of the seven national parks in Taiwan and was named after the Taroko Gorge, the landmark gorge of the park. The park spans Taichung City, Nantou County, and Hualien County.

The park was originally established as the Tsugitaka-Taroko National Park (次高タロコ国立公園 Tsugitaka Taroko kokuritsu kōen) by the Governor-General of Taiwan on December 12, 1937 when Taiwan was part of the Empire of Japan.

East Arched Gate of the Central Cross-Island Highway!

The name, Taroko, means "magnificent and beautiful". Long ago a Truku tribesman saw the beauty of the azure Pacific when he walked out of the gorge. On seeing the magnificent scene, he cried "Taroko!". And so it became the name of the place, in a fashion not dissimilar to how the island, Formosa, got its name.

Eternal Spring Shrine (also Changchun Shrine, Chanchun Shrine; simplified Chinese: 春祠; traditional Chinese: 長春祠; pinyin: Chángchūn cí; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tiông-chhun-sû; literally "Ancestral shrine of Eternal, or Long, Spring", is a landmark and a memorial shrine complex in Taroko National Park in Taiwan, in Hualian County near town of Xiulin. It is one of the major picturesque points of the park, with the view of the mountains and the waterfall, and one of the main memorials for veterans.

The name of the temple comes from the Changchun Falls that never stop running. The Shrine is located right above the waterfall streams.
